NATION OF VIANDRIA

Varkos

A compact northern nation where public life, engineering, education, preparedness, and government are all built around one question: does it hold under pressure?

A Sparse but Connected Nation

Varkos is deliberately decentralized. Its population is spread among the capital, coast, mountain approaches, river valleys, rural settlements, and the ancient grounds at Arkos rather than concentrated into one enormous city.

Major roads and rivers connect Tharos, Korrin, Drevan, the southern valleys, and the Northwest Pass.

The Measure & the Five Seats

National government is organized around the Five Seats: First Warden, High Arbiter, First Scholar, Shield Marshal, and First Steward.

Every ten years, qualified candidates are tested at Arkos. The system is designed to divide authority, test competence, and reduce single points of failure.

Three Cities—and Arkos

Tharos is the capital and civic heart. Korrin is the western maritime gateway. Drevan guards the principal mountain land route and Varkstone districts. Arkos is not one of the three principal cities, but it remains the constitutional and ceremonial ground where leaders prove their right to govern.

Across the country, bridges, harbor works, winter infrastructure, strategic reserves, public competitions, and emergency engineering reflect the same culture of tested resilience.
