CITY OF VARKOS
Drevan
Varkos’s principal land gateway and mountain-defense city, guarding the Northwest Pass and the highland routes beyond.
The Pass City
Drevan sits in a defensible upland basin behind the mountain approaches. It is smaller than Tharos and Korrin but disproportionately important for customs, overland trade, mountain engineering, military logistics, and Varkstone extraction.
Its skyline is framed by mountains, dark forest, snow-covered ridges, engineering works, workshops, and roads climbing toward the pass.
Prepared for Hard Conditions
Drevan maintains snow-clearing crews, avalanche barriers, road shelters, emergency stores, signal stations, mountain rescue, and alternate supply routes.
The city is formidable without being miserable. Community, humor, competition, ordinary work, and public Games all exist within a culture that considers failure to prepare irresponsible.
