HIGHLAND TOWN OF SABLONNE
Serenne
An important eastern highland settlement serving the great waterfall and gorge system, the cataract transfer routes, and travelers heading farther into the highlands.
Built Around a Geographic Problem
Serenne developed because the Great River’s waterfall and cataracts interrupt navigation. Freight, travelers, and supplies needed storage, guides, repairs, lodging, animal care, and transfer roads around the gorge.
Over time, tourism grew on top of that practical transport role rather than replacing it.
Falls, Freight & Rescue
Today Serenne supports warehouses, freight yards, caravan services, guides, trails, overlooks, lodging, repair workshops, rescue posts, and specialized highland transport.
Its wetter, cooler environment favors steeper roofs, heavy rain drainage, sheltered balconies, covered walkways, stone foundations, and strong moisture protection. The town sits far enough from the gorge that the waterfall remains the dominant natural landmark.
A Small Place with a National Name
Serenne is closely linked to Talara, which handles the wider trade and international connections. Serenne specializes in the highland environment itself.
It remains firmly below Sablonne’s four principal cities in size and political weight, but its waterfall, engineering, rescue services, and route role make it nationally recognizable.
