CITY OF VALDRENNE
Bastrel
An old lakeside city at Valdrenne’s southwestern hinge, combining military education, frontier defense, trade, and movement toward the mountain junction.
Strategic by Geography
Bastrel lies on or beside Lake Brûvelle in southwestern Valdrenne. Major routes lead toward Crustara, Drossen, Caldrienne, the Glazebite–Amandine junction, and the Northwest Pass.
Its military importance comes from controlling movement across those approaches, not from existing as a fortress settlement under permanent siege.
Training, Trade & Defense
Bastrel is a center of officer education, frontier administration, strategic logistics, and trade with Crustara.
The city should feel mature and lived-in: a place where military institutions exist alongside markets, schools, homes, lake traffic, and ordinary civic life.
